Love Is A Dagger
This is a custom-made commissioned poster based on the show ‘Loki’. It focuses on typography as the client wanted to include their favourite quote from the show. I wanted to show how simple of a meaning the phrase has but how powerful the impact is, with a visual of the dagger that unifies the strength and pain that comes from love itself.
The dagger itself is a combination of daggers that the character Loki uses in past movies. The main inspiration was the frost dagger used in Thor: The Dark World, to represent the love that he shares for his brother which has brought him pain. I also added a golden crown to represent Loki and Sylvie as their bond is getting stronger. The balance of new love and old love is chosen to show that Loki himself will always carry both with him and through the past pain there is perseverance. The green, gold, and black are used to represent Loki, Thor, and Sylvie, as well as the deceiving properties that love has.
The gold is divine and heavenly while the green shows the poignant side of their love. The choice of font is delicate yet bold to show the duality that love has by having strength and fragility.
